We have arrived at Mitchell (West of Roma)! Home for the next two weeks! It's NOT a big town - population was 400 odd before the recent floods - half that now. We've set up Bruce complete with awning & it's very cosy! We even have our own ensuite! This is luxurious caravaning (at a cost) - considering we haven't paid for camping sites to date & have not had a hot shower since Tuesday! We visited the Historical Village at Miles which was very interesting & stayed at Gill Weir just out of Miles. We saw lots of 'cactus trees' which looked like quite neat plants - we found out that they wrecked farming in this area in the early 1900s & it wasn't until an insect from South America was introduced that decimated the 'Prickly Pear' that farming could be resumed in about 1925! The 'cactus trees' were & are a noxious weed!
Live entertainment has just started up in the form of an old guy playing the keyboard - Grey Nomads are sitting around the fire pit listening to the tunes being 'belted out' - fabulous! I'm off to join in!

Great photos and post - u guys having a great time.
